Dana Piccoli Writer, Editor & Host

Dana Piccoli is an award-winning writer who has been covering the LGBTQ+ community for over a decade with a special dedication to queer women's issues.

She'll moderate the hell out of your panel.

Dana got her start as a writer and critic the old-fashioned way - by writing funny songs about television shows and posting them on Youtube. From there, she was discovered and much to her surprise, she was informed she was a writer at heart.

Since then, Dana has written for sites like The Mary Sue, The Portalist, ScreenerTv, and was a longtime writer and Staff Editor of a formerly popular queer women’s pop culture website, until it theoretically ceased to exist in 2016. (She’ll tell you about it if you ask.) While there she hosted the popular podcast "Let's Process" which had over 250k downloads. She's the former Managing Editor of the Bella Media Channel, a Bella Books Publishing vertical focusing on queer entertainment and pop culture. Dana also founded Queer Media Matters, because queer media matters. Always has. Always will.

She is now the editor of News is Out, a queer media collaborative.

Dana is a recipient of the inaugural Curve Award for Excellence in Lesbian Coverage. She was named one of The Advocate Magazine's 2019 Champions of Pride and Curve Magazine's 2017 Pridelist.

With a background in theatre, Dana is a natural on the stage and her extensive knowledge and love for pop culture makes her an entertaining and engaging moderator and event host. She's received rave reviews for her hosting and moderating gigs across the country and in the UK, and is available for future events.

Her debut novel, Savor the Moment is available now on Amazon and through Bella Books.
